Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. But there are rumors of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge.

The Hunger Games Trilogy Book Review

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is one of those books that was originally written for a young audience, but passed into the waiting hands of adults. There is something so powerful about a story well told, that transcends the intended age group and attracts players of all ages. It is often said that some of the best books for adults to find between the covers of Young Adult Fiction.

And so it was with The Hunger Games. Published in 2008, the first book in aAny trilogy was written so well that he received praise from all corners of the literary world. The critics, authors, readers and colleagues have been manipulated to be taken by the trip Katniss Evergreen and their role as victims of war, the State, to carry out brutal gladiator-style Games among children who may have only one winner.

Mockingjay

Collins has this brutal dystopian future, with moments of pure beauty that enrich all rivals in modern fiction. Written in first personReaders with Katniss as the route selected, is ready to fight before the eyes of the nation, an appointment to see the bigger hands to work, and finally realized their place in the world as folded for their lives against other children their own survival begins to fight in the arena.

Despite a rather inconclusive end that The Hunger Games place as only a small part of a larger story arc, the book has been embraced. The second book, catch fire, continued the story, but still smallKatniss back to history 'as a backdrop, the Arena and the survival of the target.

Mockingjay, was released the last book of the trilogy in August 2010 and for many it was a loss that could have been a memorable series. Collins Katniss placed in the hands of others and is much more history as it is manipulated in different situations and react accordingly.

The Hunger Games is a book full of beauty and horror and a story that is worth. Tell the other two books in the series that provide important lessons about writing and how to focus your character on the events of the plot.

The Hunger Games - What does look Panem?

The Hunger Games trilogy is in some 'unspecified time in the future ... a time after major disasters and drought in September At the beginning of the Hunger Games, the mayor reads the history of Panem Undersea (an annual ritual in The Reaping). It reads:. "He lists the disasters, drought, storms, fires, invasive seas that swallowed up much of the country was in a brutal war for what little food was the result of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by thirteen districts ...

SomeFurther details are available about the nature of some of the districts, but it is hard to find a view that is Panem as how big and how big (or not), the districts themselves can achieve. Panem, we know that in North America. (District 13 have been destroyed with) Now there are only 12 districts where it used to be 30 states and provinces. We know that 12 small district with a population of 8000. It feels like everyone knows everyone, and many people can fit in the public squarewhile harvesting. The only building that is heard in The Hunger Games, the fire and the construction of court houses and public buildings mayor. There are no skyscrapers, major cities and more urban sprawl. All the great city was completely destroyed.

Mockingjay

But while the district may be small, it seems the country in which they reside is still quite large. We know that the trains take about Panem Katniss Peet and travel at 250 mph. We also know that the District 7 andDistrict 10 District 12 are on the way to the Capitol. Here are some notes of things that I know Panem, have put together the neighborhoods and some of the people who live there.

Capitol says explicitly in The Hunger Games, the Capitol is in the Rocky Mountains. As in other districts, it is likely that the individuals named in this field from the things around them. For example, with snow-capped mountains, the president of snow on us.

District 1 - Luxury - This district isknown for the provision of the Capitol, with its luxury products. The tribute boy is killed by Marvel Katniss (kill her first), and killed Rue. The girl, mica, was killed by thorns jacker tracker.

District 2 - Industry unknown - but the two awards are the carnations and Cato. Clove is a spice that is home to some of the evergreens, seed that grows only in warm climates, especially in wetlands. Cato is killed when shooting hand Katniss Peet and pushes it into the cornucopia, and hefalls. The muttations eat him all night, until Katniss him, shoot him out of his misery. Clove is killed thresh, Katniss saves lives.

District 3 - factories, electronics and explosives. Wiress & Beetee and the boy, who are re-created mine in the Games of the third district free from hunger boy (name unknown) was killed by Cato, his work because it has a bit 'too well the establishment of the mines by platforms to protect the supplies. The girls (no name) diesthe first day.

District 4 - fishing. Tributes to exceed the district's swimming, and we suggest they come from a warm climate (Finnick is bare-chested a lot of time). In The Hunger Games, the boy died on the first day tribute to Cornucopia. The girl was killed by the fall Katniss jacker Stock Tracker / nest on it.

District 5 - Industrial unknown - The boy died the first day of tribute. Peet accidentally kills Foxface with toxic berries.

District 6 - Industrial unknown- What we know is that it caught fire, twill, and Bonnie, were able to train outside of District 6 to jump and walk a couple of days in the 12th district I mean, it would be very close to the 12 District 6 District Praise dead on the first day.

District 7 - Wood / Trees - nothing is really known at this circuit. Both awards were killed on the first day of the Games hunger. Joan Mason, however, is like a tree for the parade dressed in front of the DistrictSource.

District 8 - Textile / Clothing - When taking fire, we meet refugees in District 8, Bonnie and body together, their names with their most important industrial district. They describe him as "cold." Katniss recalled that it was an "ugly, urban place ... with no chance to learn the ways of nature."

District 9 - to produce electricity - the boy is dead toll, the first day. The girl died on the morning of the second day, she was the one who lit the fire under / near Katniss's'sTree and led to his career.

District 10 - Livestock / Cattle - Katniss said that the premiums are dressed as District 10 cows with luminous tape. No one knows how the tax guy, but he died the morning of the day was Katniss breaks the career provides. The girl died on the first day of the tax.

District 11 - Agriculture / Fruit - Rue mentioned specifically orchards and climbing trees. When traveling in District 11 on the Victory Tour, Katniss observed an extremeTemperature difference - the snow, which is against them will be quite warm in the winter. Katniss also asks how far they traveled south on the train. Thresh Cato kills during the District 1 guy kills Rue.

This district is described as being in the area formerly known as Appalachia - District 12 - coal mining underground. The district is also quite compact compared to some others with a population of just 8,000 people. There is an important indication of where the district could be 12, that we do notRead the book, but to listen to Suzanne Collins read. She reads Katniss with a southern accent.

District 13 - Graphite Mining Nuclear energy - It is assumed that some of the residents have moved in violation of the law, after the neighborhood was destroyed. It 'also once called the neighborhood further, beyond District 12 (described in his absence, District 12 is "the end of the line") described.

Captain Holly Short is unconvinced, and discovers that Artemis is suffering from Atlantis Complex, a psychosis common among guilt-ridden fairies - not humans - and most likely triggered by Artemis’s dabbling with fairy magic. Unfortunately, Atlantis Complex has struck at the worst possible time. A deadly foe from Holly’s past is intent on destroying the actual city of Atlantis. Can Artemis escape the confines of his mind – and the grips of a giant squid – in time to save the underwater metropolis and its fairy inhabitants?

New York Times best-selling author Eoin Colfer delivers a knockout, fast-paced, and hilarious adventure in Artemis Fowl: The Atlantis Complex, the seventh book in the blockbuster series.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thirteen-year-old Jonah Skidmore feels like an average kid, complete with an intelligent but slightly annoying younger sister named Katherine, a mom and dad who constantly reassure their children that they are special and well loved, and a quiet home in the suburbs of Ohio. The fact that Jonah is adopted has never been a big deal for him, maybe because his parents have always been so open and reassuring about it. To Jonah, life feels normal. But then he receives a letter with six simple words, "YOU ARE ONE OF THE MISSING," and his life flips upside down and way out of control.

After some investigating, Jonah and Katherine discover an amazing secret: Jonah is part of a group of kids who have been stolen out of time. J.B., a time officer, has rounded up the 36 children and is determined to set history straight by sending them back to "when" they belong. The siblings agree to help the others realign time, signing up for the most incredible adventures of their lives.

Jonah and Katherine are about ready to set off for their second mission through time. But unlike the first one, when they jumped in unexpectedly and ended up in 1483 completely unprepared, this time they get a debriefing first. This mission involves Andrea, who is really Virginia Dare, the first European born in the New World. She, like the other kidnapped children, was stolen out of time, and home for her is the Lost Colony of Roanoke in the late 16th century. History doesn't know much about her, but Jonah and Katherine --- and Andrea herself --- are about to learn a lot more.

Unfortunately, something goes terribly wrong. A secret conspirator, who calls himself Second Chance, gets involved. As the kids zip back through time, the Elucidator, an important tool for time travelers, is lost. They do arrive in the abandoned Roanoke Colony, but they don't know when, and they have no way to communicate with J.B. They are completely on their own.

Jonah, Katherine and Andrea do find two of the ghostly tracers on the island, reminders of the way time is supposed to have gone, so they follow them hoping to learn something. What they find is a shipwrecked sailor drowning in the sea. Jonah and Andrea dive in to help, rescuing someone whom they later find out to be Andrea's grandfather. But they still can't find Andrea's tracer, they don't know what exactly they need to fix, and they can't communicate with J.B. However, Second Chance finds ways to communicate with them, and our heroes learn that he doesn't just want to fix time --- he wants to change time. And these changes will send out ripples through time that could cause unimaginable damage to the history of the entire world.

Margaret Peterson Haddix continues to amaze and entertain with her stories of mind-boggling adventure. She approaches the dilemmas of time travel with courage and vivid imagination, taking pieces of history and weaving them into compelling mysteries. The storyline moves fast with plenty of action and ambiguity to tempt one's curiosity, with a bit of romance and humor to lighten the load. Jonah and Katherine are likable and believable, and Haddix writes with an open and welcoming style that invites readers to come along with them on their emotional journeys. She ends the book with a major cliffhanger, leaving her fans to drool for the next installment of The Missing.
